Out of curiosity, what does your teacher/reading chair look like?

In my last classroom I had a beach theme. My teacher/reading chair was a big adirondack chair. I'm moving to a new school this year and my classroom is small. I initially wanted to get a rocking chair for the whole group area, but it would take up my precious space. I'm wondering if a low stool would be sufficient? What works for you?

I have two chairs in my meeting area....a metal kitchen stool that my dad painted a high gloss cobalt blue...and a shorter wooden stool that my sons splatter painted years ago. I also have a comfy 'executive' chair at my desk that I rarely sit in.

I have a regular chair, but we have these stools in the classroom and it's easier to write and sit on one of these, so I'll usually use that if I'm writing on a chart while I teach. If I'm just reading I sit in the chair.

I just purchased a rocking chair at Goodwill for $10 and painted it berry pink last week. I can't wait to use it in my carpet/read-aloud area next year! :D

I have back problems, so the horrible heavy wooden chair that is in most classrooms here went out the door on day 1. Instead, I have two of these rolling chairs:

in black (I have a Saints theme, so they fit right in). I can move them wherever I need, and the kids LOVE it when they have the opportunity to sit in one of them! One stays behind my teacher table for small groups, and the other moves from the SmartBoard area to my ELMO to wherever I need it - I even held on to it in order to move around the classroom last year when my back went out!

I just have a rolling desk chair that was provided with the room. I've never brought any other type of chair into my classroom.

I have a rolling office chair that I move around with during the day (when I'm doing conferences and such) and a stool. Often times, I end up in a chair from my reading table. I would really like to have a chair that stays in my whole group area. I'm just not sure if I'd like a rocker, something like a director's chair, or something entirely different.

I have a rolling desk chair that I use for working with students, on the computer, etc.

I also have an orange (ugly) easy chair I bought at a thrift store. I use it for read-alouds, and also as a "cool down" spot for my kiddos.

I have a cheap plastic rolling chair from IKEA that I use at my easel. It's a bright turquoise and black, it's the perfect height, and it doesn't take up a lot of space. Plus, it was like $15.

My parents bought me a large rolling chair several years ago. It's really too large for the room, but there are other things I need more than a new chair. The kids love getting to si in it during free reading time.

I just use a low metal stool. Ordered it from our district warehouse and spray-painted it purple.

I had a love seat in my classroom from Ikea for the last 5 years. I took it home this summer and am searching for a chair.
