Team building activities are usually something to get a group of people working together and thinking collaboratively. For example, a common one is where everyone puts their hands into the middle of a circle and takes someone else's hand, then they have to work together to get untangled. It takes teamwork and critical thinking.

This book features lots of good team building activities - Cooperative Learning Reading Activities, by Jeanne M. Stone, published by Kagan. I know it doesn't sound like it, but it does.

Are you wanting team building activities for your classroom or your co-workers?

An activity we do with our first graders is to put the kids in a large circle with two hula hoops placed between two sets of students. The students have to work together and pay attention to keep it going. We always discuss after the activity on how important it was to work together and how it is everyone's job to help and encourage each other. The kids really enjoy this activity.
