I am currently working on a MAed and a teaching credential in K-6. My University offers the K-6 or 7-12 credentials only. Here's a little history on me. I started in the 7-12 but HATED the upperclassmen. I really like the 5, 6, 7, and 8 graders. So I switched to elementary and am liking that much more but it puts me out of range of 7-8. I've been reading posts that talk about endorsements. Is it possible to have a K-6 credential and get endorsements for 7-8? Generally speaking do these require taking the single subject Praxis II? Yes, I know it depends on the state but as I'm not associated with any state at the moment I'm trying to get the general sense. I'm very shaky on my knowledge of endorsements and what they can allow a teacher to teach.
