I'm making my summer reading list, any books you read and found useful as a veteran teacher?

Dealing with Difficult Teachers has been recommended to me and there are others by that author I was looking at. It's expensive though-I'm not sure it will be worth it.

I've already read Teach Like a Champion.

    Any other suggestions?

I recommend Teaching With Love & Logic. I also suggest Teach with Your Heart by Erin Gruwell (the Freedom Writers teacher). It doesn't really apply to teaching the younger grades, but it really does warm your heart and remind you why you teach!

Did you like Teach Like a Champion?
I was thinking about reading that.

I think there are strategies in there that are very helpful. New teachers would probably benefit the most from the techniques, however I was reminded of some things that I once knew worked and completely forgot. So, overall, yes-I think it was a beneficial read.

I loved that it came with a DVD of teachers using the strategies in action-can't beat a visual demonstration!

Teach Like a Champion is an excellent read. Very pratical and some good "techniques".
