    Teaching 1st/2nd grades

    Hi, Gillespie! :)

I've been teaching 1st/2nd graders for 7 years. It's great! :D I love having students for two years in a row! When my school year begins, I already know half of my class. I count on my 2nd graders to be good helpers for our new first grade friends. The best part is seeing two years' worth of growth and progress in each child. I may be able to offer you some tips, but I have some questions for you first!

Is this just a one year thing, or is your building planning on doing the multi-age classes long-term?

How many 1st/2nd classes are in your school?

Do you do a lot of teaming/planning/teaching with the other 1st/2nd teachers?

Which subjects are you required to teach?

Which other grades have you taught?

I'd like to hear a few more details about your situation and would love to help you if I can. If you'd like to send me a private message, that'd be fine, too.

    ~~Jaicie :)
