I was looking at a job description for an administrative position at a private university in Missouri, and they had this whole section about how they would not hire smokers. It was kind of shocking to me how hardcore it was. It included language about having methods to "detect" smokers, and immediate firing if evidence of smoking was found. I don't even smoke, but it freaked me out to the point that I did not apply. For example, if my wife decides as an adult to smoke a cigarette and someone later "detects" it on my clothes at work, would I be frog-marched out?
