DH is a mechanical engineer and I am a teacher (obviously.) We recently went on our honeymoon in Jamaica and met at least 3 other couples that are engineers and teachers. I was just curious: is this really such a common occurrence? Who out there has a significant other that is an engineer?

I’m single currently but my parents always tell me to marry an engineer! I think it’s honestly job stability and income that make it an appealing match — this seems to be a fairly common combination at my school as well.

Rockhubby got halfway through the engineering program at his school before switching to geology. So... sorta?

Oh yeah, Rockhubby's father IS a retired engineer, and his stepmother is a former teacher and guidance counselor.
