The most disturbing part is that it seems other random students jumped in and assisted in the assault.

    Horrible indeed.

I could see that happening at my school.

It sounded like the other random students were friends or family of the original student. The mother may have brought them over to gang up on her.

Absolutely disgusting. Violence is never the answer. And to think if the teacher really had put her hands on the kid and the parent approached it the right way it probably would have been taken care of. Instead the kid and parent are locked up and they aren't investigating the claim. So stupid. People need to do better at being positive role models for their children.

And this is in the suburbs of NYC. Although it's in a not so good area of suburbia.

Not watching the video. But, I know one parent who would LOVE to do this to me. :eek:hmy: I had to call CPS on her. I saw her out in public just the other day, and I was ready if she put her hands on me. My brother taught me to fight. lol

Ugh, this is my worry because I have lots of ignorant parents...but I'm willing to lose my job in the name of self defense. I keep a pen in my pocket incase I need to throw down

These days, you almost have to know martial arts, depending on where you're working as a teacher. I think all women in general should know martial arts for their own personal protection out in the world as it is.

I took a karate class as a pre-teen & self defnese class, but I wish I had a black belt right now. I'd take classes towards it, but I don't think I'd do well w/ my bad ankle (due to an injury).

This generation of kids and parents are so disappointing with the lack of respect and guidance. Especially getting into teaching, I never saw kids disrespect teachers at the levels they do now in elementary through high school. Can only pray for the best.

Not suprised. I have seen adults/parents come to school to fight and beat up another person's child.

There is a certain mentality people have to have to behave in such manner, IMO. I'll leave it at that.

I already posted here, but back when I taught special ed in 2006-07, I heard the parents of a middle schooler came down to a school in my (at the time tiny district) & beat up their kid's male math teacher who they thought did some inappropropriate sexual thing w/ him. All I ever knew after that was that the superintendent was behind the teacher 100%. I wouldn't be surprised if that teacher's still working there now.

Not as bad to this extent, but I've had mothers drive their son to pre-determined fights and tell them to "beat their a$$".

There should really be a license to parent.
