    From that link, it doesn't look like the bill is intended to increase the number of teachers dismissed, but to increase the speed with which they are dismissed. Also, notably is defines a specific category of "egregious behavior", so it wouldn't apply to those outside the definition.

    Of course, the exact effect of a law is a little difficult to predict. It could paradoxically lead to fewer teachers being dismissed, as administrators may be loathe to give themselves a legal deadline.

    Bills like this don't get passed without the CTA writing the bulk of them. The CTA is the most powerful political entity in the state.

    The reason Vergara was such a "shock" was that someone actually did something without begging for CTA approval first.

    It looks like admins don't think this will change much.
