    One day sale for teachers

I don't know if they have this store where you are, but Mardel's (Christian bookstore that also sells education items) is having a 20% off sale on Thursday for teachers. I try to go every year.

Borders, Barnes and Noble, and ask in your district if they are tax exempt at the local "Teacher stores".

    Staples
    Office Max
    Office Depot
    Borders
    Barnes and Noble
    Michaels (some of them)
    JoAnn Fabric (some of them)
    Verizon
    Sprint

Tons of local places often have discounts for teachers. You just have to ask! I get a SUPER discount on my insurance, cell phone, and several attractions here in Vegas.

I went to the Verizon Website and entered my school email. it said I wasn't eligible. Does it have to be through a certain school maybe?

It told me the same thing. Maybe your employer has to already have it set up.

When I buy things for school I always ask if they have a teacher's discount. Sometimes, I'll get an employee discount if they don't have a teacher's discount.

I am thinking your school must be set up (I found a lot of things online about NYC teachers getting this discount). I haven't gotten my school email yet so I can't try it.

Actually, I just registered our lines at Verizon to get the 18% discount. Since you use your school email address, I'm certain that it's trying to match the domain to some agreement it has with a particular school or district.

Maybe the easiest thing would be to call Verizon and ask them how to get your school or district signed up. I bet they have a form your principal could fill out.

our bank has free banking for teachers (it is a local bank)

our teacher supply store took the teacher discount away (guess everyone who came in was a teacher - they were giving it to me when I was in school "TEACHER in training")

    This is interesting info...

museums, amusement parks, pretty much anywhere you go just ask if they offer educator discounts. You will need to show proof but it is definantly worth it. Here we get free tickets to the zoo and various museums because i tell them that I'm always on the look out for a great field trip. Also contact your union they should have info on other great discounts.
