Teacher and friend just died

I just got the news that a teacher and dear friend of mine just passed away last night. I knew it was coming, but I still am in denial. She had been diagnosed with leukemia back in April. Because of her weakened immune system, she contracted meningitis and slipped into a coma a couple of weeks ago. They pulled her off life support and she fought hard for almost a week. She was only 54 and since we are a small school, this will be a difficult start to the new year for all of us.
Please remember her son and grandson in your prayers. They were her life and I know how difficult this will be for them.:thanks:

I wanted to pass along my sympathies to you, your school family & your friend's family!!! I will pray for all of you as you transition without her & head back to the classroom!!!

 

thanks diz, we are bringing in a grief counselor the first week of school.....for her students and staff. This will be hard on her students from last year....she taught second grade.

 

My prayers go out to you. I know the next while will be double-rough for you - inside you'll be missing your friend, while on the outside you'll be trying to be strong for others in the school. I hope that God will give you strength - remember that you are not alone, and that He cares for you.

Sorry to hear that you lost someone special. I feel your pain: I lost my mother at age 63 last May - let alone it was the day before my wedding anniversary and Memorial weekend. Anyway, it is hard at first to carry on. I found strength and renewel in this book called 90 Minutes in Heaven. It's an excellent story, very true, that has high ratings that I think will help you. You are in my prayers.
