Hello! I have been recommended for certification by my university. I have completed all the requirements to become a teacher, but my fingerprints have not yet been received by TEA. Will this prevent me from getting certified? Or will TEA wait until they get my fingerprints to certify me. (I am in Texas btw) Thank you!
Getting fingerprints cleare can be the last hurdle. Every potential teacher from many staes sbmit their fingerprints at the end of the school year, so the whole system really slows down. Feel free to apply and interview - you will get results before school starts. My son applied to jobs in Texas before getting hired in VA. Fingerprints are always the last hurdle.
