Anyone have any insights or experiences about how and when to broach the subject of getting a child evaluated when you suspect possible developmental issues?

I would first document things very very very carefully and have detailed observations. At the same time, I would develop a good rapport with the parents and make sure they know that you know their child well. Then, when you have your first conference with the parents, share the information you have (observations) and make your request. It's very important to develop a good relationship with them first, otherwise they'll discredit everything you say.

How long have you had this child in your environment?
