What do teachers do with the benchmark results? Is there an intervention that takes place with kids who are scoring extremely low, or is it basically a system of preparing the students, parents, and teachers what to expect? I am not teaching yet, but I would like to be "in the know" so that I can prepare myself if a 3rd or 4th grade position opens in January. I am quite lost when it comes to TAKS testing.
Our district looks at the benchmark tests to see what concepts and TEKS need to be revisited before the actual TAKS test.
I agree. Not doing TAKS, but we use Benchmark tests to see what needs to be revisited and who needs additional teaching of specific concepts.
