    25 days for us.

The month of May is going to be action-packed! We've got field trips, talent show, field day, awards assemblies, etc. Also, we're wrapping up CAASPP/SBAC (I can't wait 'til I can say that my site is D-O-N-E with testing).

    31 days until June 15!

I cannot wait for this year to end, but with everything going on in Baltimore right now; some people are worried about what the summer may bring once school lets out and the National Guard has left. Summers in urban cities like Baltimore already have many juvenile-related issues, so we will just have to wait and see.

29 for us. Lots of craziness coming up - physical fitness testing, science testing (both are 5th grade in CA), field trip to do a space travel simulation (fun!), talent show, class play, open house...probably more I'm forgetting... I feel like stuff gets added to the calendar every day.

I am so excited for summer...but I am *really* going to miss this class. I have a seriously amazing class (everyone at my school agrees!), and I will miss them so much. I've never taught the oldest kids at a school, and it's going to be so hard not to see them on campus next year!

Trust me--I know. I organize both of those.

We're done with the physical fitness and we'll complete the science on Monday & Tuesday (since it's a two-part test). Makeups on Wednesday--if necessary.

Haha I know YOU know. ;) That was for others' benefit.

We are testing in both really late - we still have a couple weeks. I'm glad because we wanted more time to fit science in. We've been practicing for the mile run. My kids were so cute today cheering each other on. (Like I said - best class ever.)

20 more days here in N Fla. We just did a NASA trip, a PBS trip (bowling) 2nd grade has a zoo/planetarium visit next week. I have softball day with my two school playing each other. Older kids have a St Augustine visit (oldest city in America). Water day the last day at one school. Teachers VS 5th grade in softball. Awards ceremony. Fifth grade graduation and on top of that I go to the HS graduation (the day after the last school day) to represent two students that chose me to walk with them and sit behind the graduation class. They have let grad. seniors pick former teachers to do this the last few years. My third time. Lots of fun and I get to wear my Univ of Fla cap and gown, busy the last month to say the least.

Thank you! BC State Attorney has just charged 6 officers (varying degrees of charges) after declaring Freddie Gray's death a homicide and saying he was arrested illegally.

We shall see what happens next ...

24 days. And I'm ready to make a paper chain. Most of the time, I'm sad on the last day of school. With this group (the most challenging I've had in my time as a teacher), I want to say, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Just Kidding. I hope it does!"

We started August 11, so not much later!

However, we have lots of breaks during the year - a week for fall break, another for Thanksgiving, 2 for Christmas, 2 for spring.

I'm trying to go to Disneyland on hopefully June 10th to try to beat the kids to the punch before they're ALL out for summer! Hope that's not a day for most schools' end-of-the-yr outings there.

Maybe June 17th would be better since that may be graduation day for a lot of kids or at least closer to it, so they'll busy w/ those festivities. Oh well, either day's probably just as good.

I think the 10th would probably be better than the 17th. However, you should be aware that the 10th and 17th are both grad nights. (Here's a link.) We've gone on grad night evenings a couple times, and it's not TOO bad, but it does make it more crowded. Also, some of the high schoolers can be pretty annoying. If you can go any other day, I would avoid grad nights.

We had passes for 5 years and went all the time...but now we live in Nor Cal, so no more passes. I hate that we're probably going to miss the 60th anniversary this summer. Anyway, have fun! :)

Thanks a lot! Grad night won't affect me since I plan to be there right at opening time in the morning & leave way before the night festivities begin.

LOL! I know I was pretty obnoxious when I was that age, too!

They start showing up pretty early - just FYI. The actual event starts at 10, but a lot of them will be there in the afternoon or even earlier. Honestly, it's not a horrible time to go, but the crowds to pick up as the day goes on.

Regardless, Disneyland is ALWAYS fun. We went Dec 22 and people said it would be horrible because of the crowds that close to Christmas - and we had an amazing time!

Getting there at opening is the best idea! :)

Our last day is June 24th. Lots going on here as well. We still have one more PD coming up in another week...Then end-of-year benchmarks....reading, writig and math...We also go on a fieldtrip on our last day. It's super busy at the end of the year, but we have done our student-led conferences so that's a nice relief!

Everyone seems so worn out right now--including admin.

Next month, the district office will announce which Ps/VPs will be moved to other sites within the district. We've been warned to not get too comfy in our current positions because there will be lots of changes next school year. I am not ready to move, but I've gotta go wherever they place me.
