alilisa....what is the $3.00 party money for?

Do you have the children just sleep on the towel, or do they put the towel over kinder-napmats?

WHat do you guys do with community snacks if there is something in them another student is allergic to?

You may send a bag of candy or gum to be added to the class “goody” jar.

You may send small inexpensive party favors, pencils, stickers, etc. for our “Star Box”.

There was a huge stink about this in our state last year! Apparently parents were complaining about this and we aren't allowed to ask for any school supplies! It is part of their FREE education! School provides paper, crayons, markers, paint, glue, sissors, and erasers. However, when I call parents to let them know their child is in my class they always ask me what they can contribute...so these are the items I "mention" not ask for:

    box of kleenex
    gallon size ziploc
    sandwich size ziploc
    baby wipes

I am amazed at these lists! Where I teach we aren't allowed to ask the parents to send in anything. The district buys the pencils, glue crayons etc.. Things like ziplock bags and kleenex I usually buy. Even if we could send home a list we would never get the parents to buy all that stuff. Wow!

We are a very small, private Christian school...we do not have $$$$ in the budget to buy the students' supplies for them. I provide some of the stuff for my class, but I Can't afford to provide everything...

I have never been in a school that provides the supplies for the students. :dunno:

PTA sells packages of supplies at the end of the year 9you order for the next grade up). The kindergarten box was $27 and you don't have to shop for it, they deliver it to the classrooms during preplanning week.

What an interesting idea! Less than half of our children could afford it! They also change schools so much I'm not sure that would work. But that is really a neat idea!
