My room parent just asked me to send home a list of dream items for my classroom. Well, dream items would be something like a smart board but I'm pretty sure that's not what she is looking for! I need some ideas - pathetic but I just can't think of anything! Any suggestions of things you just love having in your classroom? I teach second grade...thanks!
1. Bookstore gift cards (for guided reading booksets, leveled readers for independent reading, non-fiction resource books) 2. Educational Cds/DVDs 3. FLIP pocket video camera 4. digital still camera 5. new/additional electric pencil sharpener 6. iPod and iPod speakers That's what I would ask for for my classroom (wish someone WOULD ask me for a wish list!)
Or even some of the basics--expo's, a GOOD electric pencil sharpener, books for your classroom library, chocolate
Thanks! Those are great ideas! And, yes...I am so lucky - blessed actually - to have been asked this!!!
sidewalk chalk, glitter, glitter glue, pipe cleaners, googlie eyes, craft sticks, sentence strips, new paint brushes, index cards, pens, markers, crayons, book store gift card, scholastic gift cert., cd's......
Every once in awhile, our principal will ask us for a wish list (hasn't happened in the last few years, though!) and I got a large area rug and six bean bags. SO fun for the kids. You could also ask for lamps to light up your library, or book baskets. I also love having plants around the room, so maybe those too.

Just say something like "I can dream, right?"
I was once asked the same thing and I asked for (and got!) a new CD player and a really nice, teacher-grade electric pencil sharpener. I'd spend a little time this weekend browsing in an office supply store and looking at lakeshorelearning.com to get some ideas about you can really use.
