Anyone going anywhere (or have already gone) somewhere special this summer?

The fam and I are looking forward to Disney next month. :)

    How about you?

I'd really love to go to San Francisco for a few days in August, but I don't know if I can.

Otherwise, I'll have a free car rental for the day, so I'm thinking of where to go to take advantage of that.

I'll spend the day in L.A. & Newport Beach for sure.

My family and I might be doing a day trip down to Atlantic City in August.

My rich aunt bought a new house, so we're probably going to be having a party there this summer.

    2 trips planned:

First to the University of Iowa, my son will be a freshman there this fall & he has Orientation. We'll also go to the Jones County Fair while we are there & see Kid Rock.

We also have a timeshare in Florida that we're going to at the end of the month. We're going to stop in Atlanta & see a Braves game.

Also trying to finagle a tag along on dh's business trip to California in August.

I was going to go to Cleveland with some friends, but we had to cancel that. Then I was going to Nashville with some guys from work, but one of them moved over the summer. I ended up spending my Nashville money getting two tattoos.

So . . . I guess I'm staying home. I go back to work on July 28th, so not much summer left anyway.

We're renting a house by the shore with some friends for a week. BF started a new job & we have 3 weddings this summer, plus all the planning for my new position, so we did a big trip last summer & are doing staycations this year.

I took my oldest daughter to Disneyland last week. She's 5, so she was really into meeting all the princesses and other characters. It was fun to see it through her eyes!

We won't be traveling this summer...just spending time at home visiting the theme parks. I'm working full time now at one of the theme parks, so that didn't leave us any time to go anywhere.

We do plan on taking a few days somewhere this October to celebrate our 31st anniversary.

    Busy summer

We went to South Beach for 2 days with family. I am spending extra time with our grandson most days. I went to NYC with my husband-he had business, but we went out 2 days early to see the sights.(I hadn't been since high school.) We are going on a 10 day road trip to see family near Chicago, with several stops along the way. We also like long weekend trips to places fairly close. I went to my classroom today(I am doing a 2 week program at the end of July) and told my P that I needed to start back to rest!! I hope everyone enjoys whatever the summer holds.:)

So sorry you are having such uncertainty! We have gone to Hatteras Island nearly every year for the last 20. Only one time, the island was recovering from a storm, and we weren't sure if we would get our vacation. We had a hotel room in VA and were waiting for the OK. It turned out to be a beautiful week! They postponed some fireworks until Monday so you could get lucky.
We are going to Hatteras and Ocracoke in mid August. We will celebrate my DS 21st birthday there. We also had his 1st birthday there. Taking grandparents and both sons' girlfriends.

Going to the mountains of West Virginia and then on to Virginia Beach. We're going to ride the Cass Scenic Railroad.

I had one kid who wanted mountains, and 2 kids who wanted beach so this seemed the best compromise :)

We leave the week after our county fair, which will be a nice break, then give me about 2 weeks to do room prep and school shopping before the first day.

Just returned from Vancouver, BC late yesterday.

Can't wait to go back to Canada! I'd like to make a trip to the East Coast (Quebec area) next time, though!

Vancouver is high on my vacation list! We have relatives in Seattle, and it's just a couple hours from them, so my mom and I are planning it sometime in the next year or so.

No vacations for me this summer. Moving to a totally new area 7 hours away is enough for us! But we do still have 1 or 2 more trips to Disneyland before we move.

Last summer was our vacation summer - we went to Disney World, Chicago, and St. Louis! (The latter two to visit friends and family). I guess this is a year off! Hopefully next summer.

Gino's East (pizza), Paddy Long's (beer and bacon), Navy Pier, the Bean, lots of museums (depends on what you like and they are pricey), of course the Magnificent Mile, good shows, the Cubs, Segway tours, architectural boat tour.

    Have fun!!

Going to Colorado for five days! I'm visiting family, but we're going to make sure that we see lots of touristy things. We'll be in Boulder, Denver, and Golden. Excited!

The best thing we did in Chicago was one of the boat tours. It was SO much fun. It's such a beautiful and interesting city. We loved having a unique view of it and getting to hear about the history and architecture.
