I was just wondering what most of you do during the summer vacation. Do you plan for the next year, travel, or just relax? Does anyone pick up a summer job or tutor?

Well,I plan to visit as many thrift shops/yard sales and store closing to get supplies for the classroom but I'll probably just relax.

I usually do as little as possible. I do plenty of things for work, but I keep my own schedule, doing what I want when I want. I always do my "deep cleaning" of the house in the summers.

I don't work in the summers. I really wouldn't mind it, but there really aren't places to work here.

We plan a vacation for July, take some short trips nearby, read a lot, spend time with my mother (81 y.o.) & father (87) and my grown kids, and sit out on the patio and listen to my chimes ring. Yes, I LOVE summer!

I normally work... I have trouble being idle for more than just a few days. I have coached at the pool and done summer school. Summer is also my most successful season for dieting and exercising :)

I relax! This summer I'm planning an extensive trip. But mostly, I enjoy eating lunch when I'm hungry, going to the bathroom when ever I need to and just being a normal human being.

Last year I started walking through the metroparks. Really long walks, logging 30 miles a week. With school in session I don't have the time to get walking of that intensity in. I look forward to next summer so I can lengthen my walks again. It was peaceful, I met some wonderful "regulars", and even crossed paths with an occasional wild turkey or deer.

I have always worked, full or part time during the summer. I would like to take the summer off to take a vacation etc. This past summer I worked part time and it was wonderful to enjoy my beach and kayak during the week and not just weekends.

Last year I worked summer school. This year however, we plan on taking a small trip with my sister's family and a HUGE trip to Europe (first trip overseas for either of us and a real honeymoon)!! I also plan a little for the next school year.
