I'm putting together bingo boards for summer reading, and have to come up with numerous ways, things and places to read for grades 2-8. Some of them include: Read under a tree Read a menu Read a funny book Etc Can you suggest some others, for all grade levels? I'm drawing a blank!! Thank you!
Read to a pet Read to a parent Read to a neighbor Read in your pajamas Read while eating a popsicle Re-read an old favorite of yours Read a cereal box Read a book your teacher read aloud I might steal your bingo idea!
read a comic book read the "funny pages" from the Sunday newspaper read an article about a famous person - on the internet read a recipe - and make it
Thanks for the ideas! How it works is, each grade level gets their own board filled with different reading "suggestions". When they've done the suggestion, they initial it. In the fall, they return their board to school, and get a prize (everyone gets a prize). Parents know and "oversee" it, so the kids can't cheat Teachers who have specific books they want the kids to read over the summer let me know of those titles (The Giver, Treasure Island, etc) and those get placed on the proper grade level board. It's a great hit! It's my first year here...the librarian from last year didn't leave me last year's boards/ideas, so I'm starting from scratch!!
read to a child younger than 5-yrs-old read to an adult older than 50-yrs-old read under a tree read in a tent read under your blankets with a flashlight read the nutritional info on 3 cans of vegetables read an encyclopedia entry with the same 1st letter of your name
Read brochures from amusement parks, vacation spots, et. Read maps Read historical markers This is a very cute idea, will have to borrow it! Thanks.
