Do you have any recommendations for enjoyable books on teaching? There are a lot on Amazon with great ratings, which makes it hard to decide. I have been considering (haven't read):

    The End of Molasses Classes
Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids (not sure about my feelings on WBT though... I can see many kids loving it, but the techniques would have annoyed me as a student I think)
    Teach Like a Pirate
Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire

One book I recommend, especially for new teachers, is Educating Esme': Diary of a Teacher's First Year. It literally made me laugh out loud at several points.

Teach like a Pirate is stellar.
The Global Achievement Gap is eye-opening.
Everything Bad is Good for You is mind-altering.

My little brother bought me "Teach Like a Pirate" just because he loves pirates and we're big Pittsburgh Pirates fans. It was totally random, but it was an easy to read, enjoyable book.

The Book Whisperer and Reading in the Wild, both by Donalyn Miller. Game changers for me.

I'm also looking for good books to read. Are these books applicable to high school as well?
