Hello All, I was recently hired on by a startup charter school (high school) and received a pleasant surprise along with the job offer - I'll be teaching English (my cert area) as well as Social Studies (for at least part of the school year). Since it's a startup, we're pretty much starting from scratch in terms of acquiring resources for the school and have been tasked with making "wish lists" to help aid their purchase process. Unfortunately, I'm closing out a relocation move, so my mind is frazzled at the moment. Can anyone suggest items/resources I should request for the SS class, and even the English class? Thx a bunch!
Posters for the wall for English and Social Studies. English: things related to grammar, writing, literary terms, sentence starters, etc. Social studies: I'm not a history teacher but the first thing comes to mind is maps, lots of big maps, US and the world.
