My school requires students to all read one book in the summer. I have to decide what the incoming 7 and 8th grade should read. Each grade gets a different book.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Grapes of Wrath may be a little mature for the age group, but I think great things could be done with it, especially now. Just my :2cents: Good luck!

Our incoming seventh grade reads Schooled by Gordon Korman. It's great, because it can easily be read by almost all of the seventh graders, and it deals with many issues that are part of our social-emotional literacy program. Our 8th grade is in the process of choosing a new book.

My school has incoming 7th graders reading Scat by Carl Hiaason. I think the incoming 6th graders have to read The View From Saturday by Konigsburg. I can't remember what the 8th graders will be reading.

I'm thinking of trying "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" with my 8th graders.
