    Hi all,

I posted this in the substitute forum but figured I could also "go to the source" so to speak and ask a quick question. I am subbing tomorrow morning for a half day for a high school Spanish teacher who will be out for a conference. I have not subbed this subject before and was wondering if there are any "tricks of the trade" you could fill me in on before I go in. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. :)

Stick to the lesson plan. Don't try to teach new grammar, even if you speak Spanish.

Most foreign language teachers leave practice/review work or videos. It should be an easy day for you.

    I haven't subbed.

But the fact that she's at a conference is probably a very good thing-- she's had plenty of time to come up with plans that will keep the kids busy and that will be easy for you to follow.

    Good luck!
