So I'm going through an alternative certification program as a career changer at 40. I live in TX and have my social studies 4-8 certification and my special education ec-12 certification. I will test for my ec-6 core certification at the beginning of next week.

However, I don't have any experience teaching in schools. I have coached a ton of youth sports teams, but don't have actual classroom experience. I didn't go through a traditional certification route because there was no way I could afford to not be paid for a semester. Even now, I'm working full time and can't afford to take the pay cut of being a TA to get experience. Should I sub instead? Am I going to have to find some way to TA?
    Help me, I'm poor. LOL.

Could you be a TA and work a part time job to make up the difference?
