Okay, so clearly I'm new at this. I'm taking y'alls advice and going to hand out resumes to the schools I'm really interested in. Question is, how do I go about doing this? Do I ask to speak to the principal directly? and do I just introduce myself and say that I've applied for the position and wanted to meet him personally? HELP! :)

I've usually just handed it off to whoever I can find. Even a construction worker doing work on the building once. I actually got called in later that afternoon for an interview. So if you see a construction worker maybe keep that in mind :).

Principals are usually very busy, so most likely you won't actually talk to them. I would just go in and say hello to who ever you are greeted by and inform them that you would like to drop off a resume packet. Take their lead, if they say they will deliver it say thank you and leave. If they say the principal is available then introduce yourself :)
