I have 5 students in my resource center for reading and 4 in my resource center for math currently. They are all 3rd grade students. I have just been informed that on Tuesday I will be getting a new student for reading andm ath. This student speaks little to no English (and neither does his mother). I already have 3 different reading levels/guided readign groups in my room. I don't know how I am going to teach him phonics and everythign else that he needs to know on top of all that. Has anyone ever had a non-english speaking student in their room? How did you handle it? Any/all advice is appreciated.
