When's your standardized state testing? Ours is end of April/beginning of May.

I love doing test prep and hearing the kids say, "This is soooo easy! You already taught it!"

Makes me feel relieved to know that they've soaked up so much!

Students test 3 times a year here. It basically feels like we're testing all year long.

We start mid-April and will be testing through mid-May. My kiddos will be taking 1 test/week.

The very end of May. (after Memorial Day) This is the first year it is this late. Usually testing has taken place in mid-May because we retest students that don't pass. No retests this year due to renorming.

Ours is right at the beginning of the year in October. Nice that we don't have to deal with it at the end but oy does it make those first few weeks a flurry of reviewing material!

The open-ended part is the last week of February/first week of March. I just love the fact that they can be tested on any third grade standard when we're 2/3 of the way through the school year...

The 3rd grade reading test is in mid-March, and the multiple-choice portion of the state test is late April/early May.

It varies by grade. In the school I am student teaching in the 5th graders have already taken at least their writing SOLs. 3rd Grade SOLs (the grade I am student teaching in) have their tests mid/late May (I will be done by then though)

This is very interesting. I guess I'd assumed most states tested at the end of the year.

I finished teaching all the math and language arts standards (which are the only two areas 2nd graders in CA are given state tests) in early February. I've used all of March (and I'll use the rest of April) to keep reviewing key standards. I'm so glad I've had the past couple months (and the next 8 weeks of school) to teach social studies and science every single day! The kids love it! Oh, and my favorite subject: ART! I've had lots more time to teach art! :D

I am in California--my kiddos are testing April 22 through May 3rd although the second week if for make-ups.
I too have taught most of the LA standards--little behind in math but will get there soon enough--hard to get it all done with 34 kiddos! :)
We have been doing a little test-ready in preparation every day: We review what we know about a standard, review our grammar notebooks or math vocabulary, and then we look at how it will appear on the test...
