I'm looking for books for 1st and 2nd graders that introduce things like the state tree, state bird, etc. I'd love to cover several states to show the differences. Anybody have any recommendations?

Slightly off topic, but did you know that cricut (the cutting machine) has a cartridge that cuts out all of the state symbols? It would make a very cool book or display for kids in a hands on sort of way....

I've used United Tweets of America: 50 State BirdsTheir Stories, Their Glories by Hudson Talbott. It's a really cute book.
