Staples Appreciation Day

I got a call earlier saying I won a door prize from this morning's Teacher Appreciation Day at Staples! I can't wait to see what it is. :)
 
Yay!!! I didn't go. I was planning on it but the nearest Staples isn't that near. Let's us know what you won!!!

Is there a place to find out when you local Staples Teacher Appreciation Day is? (If ours was today, I missed it, but I didn't get any notification about it this year.)
 
I wonder what the special gift is? Did anybody get theirs for being one of the first 200 teachers today?
 
Yes, they were 512 MB flash drives. My staples also gave out desk calendars and LOTS of prizes! They said they had 85 prizes to give away and were drawing tickets every 2 or 3 minutes. I won a bag of lots of school supplies (a small desk organizer, 2 pks of filler paper, a 6 pack of spiral notebooks, 3 book covers, and a really nice 5 subject notebook). It was nice being appreciated!:up:
 
We'll get a "goody" bag, with some token freebies and discount coupons. (I'd be in heaven if I got a free flash drive!), a bottle of water and a couple of mini chocolate bars. We get a 10% discount as well (on top of the teacher dividends)--which will definitely help my son pay for his laptop. I never expect much, I appreciate the token of appreciation. :up:
 
Ooohhh, I'm excited about the drawings and the flash drives. But now I'm wondering, should I go to the Staples near my house (the one that was not very kind with teacher limits) or the one 20 min. away (that is generous with teacher limits)... Hmmm.. I wonder if either one will have the drawings because they're both in pretty small towns. Oh well, I'll probably just go to the one by my house to save gas.
 
I am going back tomorrow to pick it up. They had a wide range of prizes, so I'll let you know what it is. Yes, they gave away jumpdrives, among other things...very cool!
 
I didn't go this morning but a friend of mine and I were in there later this afternoon. The manager knows I am a teacher (I am in there enough with my Teacher Reward Card and buying supplies for the kids that just can't). Anyway, she said for me to hang on a minute and she gave me one of the jump drives from this morning.
 
My Staples add donuts and coffee. They gave us the flash drive and a pack with three plaid file folders, a little notebook, a coupon to SmileMakers and a 12% instant coupon. They didn't have any pens/pencills, etc. They didn't have drawings either, but hey, they don't have to give us anything so I was thrilled, pleased and thankful. Office Depot's is next week. Any idea about Office Max's teacher day?
 
I went and took my mom. They gave her the USB port also. And I won a door prize--a Trayola Crayola twistable set of 48 (Six per color of 8) for my class. I never win anything, so I was excited.
 
My day is the 16th, but wouldn't you know, I have to work. I NEVER work Saturday mornings (another lady opens every Sat), but for some reason, I am scheduled in the morning and she in the evening. :mad:
Maybe I'll have to ask her to switch....

Never been to a Staple's Appreciation Day; wonder what you need to bring to show proof that you're a teacher???
 
Wow, a flash drive - that's not too shabby! Our Staples is having theirs on 8/16, but today Big Lot did theirs, giving 10% off your entire purchase (I bought cat food and almonds and they included it in my purchase).

We have two Staples within driving distance of us, and I'm going to go to both (next Saturday). I always shop at the one further away, and the manager was super nice today extending the penny sale for me, but the other one is on the way there, so I'll stop there, too. And if they are giving flashdrives away to people who come with you, you can bet my husband is getting dragged along!!
 
My friend and I went...we each got a flash drive!
She won a prize, a small goody bag with post-its and white out tape and not sure what else...
they had random items, the lines were soooo long, people did not want to get out of line to get their prizes, LOL!

The store itself was no too crowded, people just kinda came in got their items and stood in line.

It was fun! Punch cookies, etc... too!
 
I work in MA but I live in NH.... does it matter which Staples I go to? Does it have to be the state I work in?
 
The only ID they asked for at my Staples was my Staples Reward Card. Some teachers brought their school ID.
 
I am thinking about driving to "the big city" this next weekend to take advantage of this. There are 3-4 staples in a driving area, so we may hit a couple. I am excited!
 
How much "stuff" will these flash drives hold? I'm thinking 50 Word docs, is that about right? Also, what's a jump drive?? Is that an external drive?
 
Jump and flash are the same thing as far as I know. They snap into the little USB port on your computer.

They will hold way more than 50 word docs. They are a half of gig if they give out the 512 mb. The average word document without photos is under 50 kb. So you could get upwards of 10,000 documents on it.:)
