Anyone have any ideas for a project for st. patricks day? I want to do something next week so I can hang them up in the classroom. Maybe somehow incorporate writing into it? I want it to be sorta like an art project, either with coloring or glueing.

Could you make shamrock books..bare with me when I can draw you to show you what I mean. Take a paper..so when folded in half it forms a square, so a 9x18 piece of paper would work. Fold in half, and have them trace a shamrock shape (you'd have to make..so the top lines up with the fold) Trim off edges. On the outside of the book you could have them decorate with crayons symmetical patterns to incorporate math (I always like having them make patterns using a variety of greens (or using part marker/crayon for different colors/texture)

Then when it flips open you can have them right something about how they are lucky in life. You could also incorporate the Irish blessing as inspiration

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.

    or

    Wishing you a rainbow
    For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
    For golden happy hours—
    Shamrocks at your doorway
    For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

I hope my description makes sense. :D
