We havent met in person before! Feels like I have though. I live so close to the everglades so I think an airboat ride is a must. Also, want to go down to south beach and people watch and walk the boardwalk on 26th street. We may even go antiquing in Dania near Jai Alai and Jackson's. I just want from my spring break a chance to BE HOME. Soccer season which is soon to end, has us out three nights a week and games saturday and sunday! I want to take my kids to the lap pool in my community and exercise, keep them outdoors and tire them out EVERYDAY.

That all sounds wonderful, ruth. Have a great time and give hugs to each other from all of us. Want to come on up to West Palm one day? Let me know.

Hope you are having great weather in Florida. My youngest daughter should be hitting Orlando right about now with her high school marching band. I would love to be there also, but the district where I teach isn't out until March 28th.

I hope you two have fun!
We have a long weekend for Easter and then a break in April. My friend and I are thinking of going to Miami for a couple of days in April, depends on how much money we have!

I just woke up at 9:30!
I had a dinner party last night for 5 couples (no kids) and it was so much fun. The house is SPARKLING (just dont do the white glove test on anything above 5'3) I loaded the dishwasher before i went to bed and let it run so I have a little more straightening up to do. Today I am going to the show Graduate. We have season tickets and my twin has seats/tickets next to us. We decided to NOT take my kids to see this one and instead my brother and sisterinlaw are coming! This has been such a great weekend. I cant believe I have an entire week of this!

You are having way too much fun! Ha! I also slept till 9:30...but my house is not sparkling and I don't have anything "fun" planned...plus there is still snow here from Friday's 10" snowfall!!! Is this hell on earth or what???!!! Oh just kidding. IT's not that bad. The sun is bright as can be and our 3 cats are so cute plodding around ...
Hey I did rearrange the living room yesterday and it is awesome. We have an old table that was once in my husband's childhood cabin up north. It's pine and very rustic...it's so cooooool...well at least I think it's cool. There must be 100 geese at the park(behind our house)..they have been floating around all weekend waiting for the snow to melt so they can come onshore. I told my husband he should go down there and shovel the park for them! You can imagine the response!

Wahh, my spring break is over now; I go back to school tomorrow. Plus, I pretty much wasted my week; my house is still messy, and I'll be up all night grading essays and average midterm standings. Yes, I spent most of my time sitting right here blogging. (blush) And you know what? It was great. It's the first time in my life that I spent a personal vacation as a slug, a SLUG. Oh yes, I'm not sure I ever stopped eating the whole time, either. Yup, it was great.

    Hi Ruth
I hvaen't been around for a long time, concentrating on work, home and a diet, but I have checked in now and then. Sounds like you are having a great break. Ours starts on Good Friday and on Monday I head to the big city(probably small compared to ones around you0 nad spend 4 of my break days at our General meeting for our teachers union!

Lots of work BUT the hotel room is paid for and my Hubby is coming, the kids will be at my Moms and my nights are free so it is a little bit like a holiday.

    Have a great break everyone.
    Dawn

Hi all, Lori and I spent the day thrift store hunting. Great place in Opalocka/Hialeah if there are any local gals looking to spend a few dollars!
We were in the pool TWICE today. First was to get Lori some 'spring break color' and the second was to watch the american idol show from the hottub/jaccuzzi!

Halleluia! We made it! Spring Break, FINALLY!!!! (We had school on Good Friday, we think it was a mistake... but one we announced it, I think they decided we couldn't "un-announce" it...)... 30 kids at our school, we had 11 out... was nice! :)

Sounds like fun, everybody. I have had a great week, relaxing, redecorating my bathroom in shabby chic (my fave), reading, playing word games, breakfast at best restaurant at the beach, shopping for my daughter who is getting her first apartment, getting ready for Easter which we will celebrate along with my son's 22nd (!!!) birthday.

WOOOOHOOOOOO I made it home at bedtime last night! That 13 1/2 hour drive ended up being longer due to 2 wrecks that had trafffic blocked for the longest in georgia.

I had a great time on my trip!! Visited some friends before heading to Ruth's. Yep, had some fun!! Got a little burn/tan/color... LOL It will turn tan soon, but I didn't burn as bad as I usually do. :) The thrift stores were fun! I found these big silk lily pads that are going to be perfect for my end of the year theme with frogs... "we're hoppin' outta here!" Got to see some gators on the airboat ride. I went to Key Largo that afternoon and drove around some... went to a beach at Harry Harris park at Tavernier (sp?), bought a t-shirt! :) Oh, Ruth, I didn't even think to show it to you. I had tossed the bag in the back and forgot to get it out to show you. :( oh well. It is cute!

Well, today and tomorrow I have to rest up before heading back to school Monday. This was a great spring break!

    Thanks for having me, RUTH!!!!

    Lori
