Yes, we made it. As of 3:00 this afternoon, I am officially on Spring Break for the next 9 wonderful, blissful, terrific days. No students, no papers to grade, no meetings, nothing that I don't want to actually do other than cleaning out a closet which is a needed thing since it's ready to be deemed a danger zone when you open it. I am trying not to think about the fact that we go back from the break, have only a day review and we start CRCT (state testing), or the fact that we have to do ours either on the computers, or the iPads.
(trying not to think about those things).
Anyone else get to have a  ?

My break starts right now too!!! And we have state testing when we get back as well, although we get 2 weeks to review.

Spring Break in the HOUSE!!!!!! Finally!
I'm so tired. It's early Friday night and I'm already in my pjs trying to fight the exhaustion of the school year. It would be just plain wrong to fall asleep this early my first night of break...right?

I just started my spring break today too, although I still tutor. But that's fairly easy work.

We get two weeks off for spring break. I plan to use much of that time to prep for my 5k race, job hunt, resume update, relax, etc.

YES! I have to admit I'm spoiled...just finishing my first week of break, and still have another week! Today my dh and I returned from a few days in San Diego and we both got the cleaning bug and cleaned the apartment for 3 hours straight! Now I can cross THAT off my to-do list! It feels great!

We don't have spring break. And we don't have summer break either!! Although the permanent teachers can take, I think up 20 days off with pay, throughout the year. But those in my position, it's off without pay. I'll just work :)

What a schedule! How many teaching days do you have in your school year?

Here we are starting "Semana Santa", which is the week that leads up to Easter. Since CR is a Catholic country, just about everyone gets at least a couple days off.

My boyfriend and I are going with his sister's millionaire boyfriend to some fancy-pants 5 star resort for a few days. I'm excited, but would have been just as happy hanging out here and drinking cheap beer.:)

Our spring break has started as well. We haven't had a whole spring break in several years. I'm excited. Plus, only 25 days after spring break. Woo-hoo!

Yesterday was psycho parent day, too. We were all ready to leave by the time 3:00 rolled around.

Permanent teachers have 220 or 225, I'm not sure exactly how much. We only have 7 school days off for winter break (+ weekend in between), no spring or summer break, some holidays off. They have about 3 weeks I believe (or whatever the difference is between the school days and their teaching days) to take off as personal days with pay.

But long term subs, like me, we don't have this benefit. I'm there ALL THE TIME. They take off weeks at a time, or days here and there and I'm there all the time. I could take off, but that would be without pay, even if I'm sick. Doesn't sound fair, especially since I'm doing the same amount of work they do. Oh well. I still love my job, hehe :)

I started making a list of things I want to get done/achieve during spring break. I know how quickly time flies and want to make sure I get these things done.

    On my list so far:
    1) clean/organize my closet (donate clothes I no longer wear)
    2) clean/organize my bedroom and office
    3) Make yummy food
    4) Dentist appointment
    5) make an appointment, hopefully during spring break, at the dermatologist
    6) Job hunt- update resume
    7) make an appointment at the counseling office at the college for my future career/education goals. I plan to go back to school
    8) Organize/clean kitchen
    9) Go over March's Budget
    10) Continue running/working out for my 5K in Apirl
    11) Find a pretty dress to wear to a friend's wedding in April (right after my 5K!)
    12) watch movies
    13) maybe get a friend to play hooky and go to the beach
    14) read books
