Spring break is next week for me. I am going to Fort Wilderness in Walt Disney World in Florida for a wedding than I am going house hunting with my cousin so she can move out of her moms old home.
Our break starts at 3:00 pm tomorrow! My sister and I are headed to my mom's for the weekend, then my daughter will be coming home (with her boyfriend) for the last half of the week. Can't wait!
My spring break started about 10 years ago ..... and is only interrupted by some occasional consulting work .........
Starts March 31st here! I have no plans as of yet. I'm sure I'll go to my parents' house at least once & go to the movies.
3:10 tomorrow afternoon can not come fast enough for me! My first plan is to get over this cold I am getting. Sleep! Hopefully find my son a car. Visit my Mom. Hang out with my bestie! Pretty much in that order!
Have fun! February break was two weeks ago. Spring break is the week leading up to Easter...three days have been cut from that break to make up for snow days but worth it over making them up in 90 degree weather with no ac.
My spring break starts tomorrow soon as I walk out of my classroom! I'm going to San Antonio for my cousin's baby shower. I hope the weather starts warming up around here for good!
The forecast calls for more COLD here, with a few centimeters of snow a couple of days. I'm planning to stay inside, snuggled under a blanket on the couch with a good book, on those days.
One more week til spring break. I will be spending a few days in Chicago with a friend, visiting my daughter who is in grad school there! Can't wait!
Spring break for me is so far away. Have not made plans yet. I'm glad it's later in April though since the weather will be much warmer. If we had break now I'd be stuck in the house trying to keep warm!
Ours is the week between Passover and Easter, so I can make it to Philly to have seder with my parents (first time in a decade) and then head up to New York City to see my brother and HOPEFULLY MikeTeachesMath as well.
My friend is getting married in Jamaica, and I'm in the wedding. We leave March 24th. I wish today was March 23rd.
Today at 4, Spring Break begins for me! I can't wait! I've signed up for a single's club that holds events every day during the month, and have signed up for 2 events that take place over spring break. Otherwise, getting my hair done and catching up on some reading and TV watching! I'll be in San Antonion tomorrow and Sunday!
Disney World with my guy  Eight days! We'll be checking out Universal Studios as well. I seriously can't wait. First "official" Disney trip of 2014 We'll be at the Grand Floridian for five nights then back to our property for the remaining time. Spring break is still far off but that hasn't stopped me from planning things like a loon!
My kids' one and only day of spring break is today. We spent it doing doctors appointments. DrivingPigeon-where in Jamaica? I have a love affair with that island.
I personally don't like Universal Studios because there isn't much to do for me because I don't like rides and it is kind of weird the way it was designed. I have never stayed the Grand Floridian, I usually stay in Fort Wilderness or the Dolphin and Swan (I get an employee discount because my aunt works for Starwood, which owns the Swan and Dolphin). But this time I am staying in the Hilton by Downtown Disney because that is where the wedding is.
I'm now back after March break... it was rough, as we had planned to have my wife's brain surgery done during the break, but it got postponed because of a blood clot, due to the insertion of a pick line, due to an infection in her chest port... second time the surgery has been postponed on us and it's becoming quite discouraging.
Hugs to you and your wife...hope the end is near to all the health problems and that bright, sunny days are in the near future
I know I better try to plan something good for my spring week off because that's the last good vacation I'll get in a long time! This summer, I'll probably have to do something for my grad school. I'd love to fly to San Francisco for a few days, but I don't know.
I've painted my bathroom and may start on my bedroom. We are planting our vegetable garden later in the week. I'll be reading and sleeping in. We aren't going anywhere except our two homes but getting things done is nice.
I take that back. I will have the week of June 2nd off too if I still do my work for grad school this summer.
We're checking out Universal mostly for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We go to Disney a ton but we always forget about Universal. You are right though, there isn't a lot to do there if you don't like rides. I remember going as a teenager and having this one friend that hated roller coasters and she was bored the whole time lol. How is Swan? We've never looked into staying there but next time we go I want to switch it up. I love the Polynesian as well. Or pretty much anywhere with a decent bar
You don't like rides?????????? I will go on them for you!! I have only been to Disney and Universal once (in my 20s) and loved both. If I ever go back I really want to check out the Harry Potter stuff. My husband doesn't like flying so if we go we will have to drive (from NY is a LONG car ride!!!).
Just came back from Palm Springs! Such a needed warm vacation from this Polar Vortex year! No more breaks until Memorial Day!
Omg, I could never last in a car from NY to Florida! I'm too spoiled  Speaking of HP, I'm sad that by the time we go Diagon Alley still won't be finished. But you should definitely try to go sometime soon! The butterbeer is addicting.
It took me FOREVER to drive back home from San Antonio yesterday! Ugh! What was a 4 hour 45 minute drive down there took 6 hours back. Exhausted today!
Ours is not until 4/14, but it will be two glorious weeks long. I think we are renting a beach house for part of the time (that´s what we normally do, anyway).
This is completely thread hijacking and I should probably PM but I have a quick question. Did your wife like her port before the infection? How long has she had it? I am getting a port in three weeks because I can no longer have PICC lines but am nervous about having something permanent in me. Back on track, I am jealous of everyone going to warm places and hope everyone has fun. I am especially jealous of Disney because I love it. I liked Polynesian better than Grand Floridan or Swan/Dolphin but I think I am biased as that was the first place I stayed. Have fun!!
I stayed there a long time ago, maybe even the first year it was built. It was nice but didn't seem very Disneyish. You wouldn't even know you were at a Disney hotel. In fact, I'm not sure they are. Also, it takes while to get to places. Disney is great with buses but there is something about being on the monorail line that I really liked. I also stayed on the Boardwalk which I would totally recommend. You can walk to Epcot from there and I love the whole atmosphere. Now I really want to go back to Disney! Would it be weird to take a vacation to Disney when our twins are one without them?
Sleep late if possible. Errands on Monday, photo sessions on Tuesday (my hobby... if it doesn't rain), clean out crap Wed. and Thurs. for a yard sale on Fri. and Sat... if it doesn't rain! Oh and a trip to the dentist on Wed... rain or shine. LOL
