I am looking for a program that has a meaningful way of creating the weekly lists, such as prefixes, suffixes, silent letter, etc... Most I have seen don't show a "rule" and they include a lot of busy worksheet work. I am creating spelling activities with the lists instead of the worksheets. Can anyone recommend one to me, whether store bought or free online. My group will be varied. I believe some of my 5s will be working from the Grade 6 list and vise versa. I also suspect a couple who struggle so will look for a more suitable list. Thanks!
Evan Moore is decent. It's not as rule-focused as Words Their Way, but there is a strategy for their lists.
I came very close to buying this: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Morphology-Dictionary-Ready-Made-Spelling-Lists-and-Student-Dictionaries-680661 It looks pretty good. Less labor intensive than Words their Way. ETA: I noticed it's 4th/5th. Might be worth looking at, though.
I'm at an independent school so the grades are different. It's K-7 and 8-12. So, no middle school. I am hoping to find old school like McCracken lists. I like how they break it down.
