    Hi everyone!

Yesterday, I received my 2nd ticket in one month! My first this month was for a past due registration and the one I got yesterday was for a speeding ticket (my 2nd speeding ticket in 3 years). I was wondering if these tickets will show up in a criminal background check and if I should report them on future job applications for teaching.

    Thank you!

Applications always ask for crime convictions excluding traffic violations. You should be perfectly fine.

Your ticket for registration is fixable. All you have to do is show up to court, show evidence that you do have your car registered, and pay $10. At least that's how it was for me. This is true even if your car was not registered at the time of your ticket, but registered it after.

But none of the traffic violations you mentioned are criminal, so you are fine.

Yep, I agree with the above posters. Traffic violations (at least the minor ones such as these) are not something you need to report. It even says so on most, if not all, applications

Criminal background checks don't show speeding tickets. I also cannot imagine one employer that would turn you down over a speeding ticket unless you were hired as a driver.

Does it matter that it was a pretty sizable ticket? I was going +15 over. 40.7 in a 25, to be exact.

    Slow down....:D

Speeding tickets tend to be in the 'minor violations' category...not considered major....but take it easy out there...you are sharing the road with people we love.
