    :celebrate:

What kind of special treats whether it's candy, desserts, etc do you look forward to buying or making this time of the year?

I feel like making the bark candy where you take a package of bark chocolate or another flavor, add rice krispies, marshmellows, and peanuts (and other ingredients!).

I'm also feeling like mint flavored candy like the Andes mints but I'd like to find another kind without the trans fat!

I love See's chocolates so will probably pick up a few there!

So, what do you like to make or buy this time of the year as a special treat?

I really love making these little pretzel things. You buy the round pretzels (about the size of a quarter, I guess) or the ones that look like windows. Lay them in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Put a Hershey kiss (I like the zebra striped ones) in the center of each pretzel. Pop them into the oven on very low heat for a couple of minutes. When you take them out of the oven, put an M&M in the center of each one. Let the chocolate cool off and harden.

They're delicious and very easy to make.

A big kettle of hot apple cider simmering on the stove:
    1 big jug apple juice
    1/2 can cranberry juice concentrate
    1/2 can o.j. concentrate
Water (as called for by juice)
    Cinnamon sticks or mulling spices

My favorite is Russian Tea Cakes (cookies), which I only make at Christmas. I also usually make homemade cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. Yum!

Oreo White Fudge Cookies. They only come out during the holiday and I will buy as many as I can find to stock up. I even get a ton as a gift!
