Anyone here ever done a Spartan Race?

I am signed up for one in a few weeks and I'm so nervous! I'm not exactly in the best shape of my life, so I am worried that I will not be able to finish. Eeek! I don't know what possessed me to sign up lol :help:

I personally haven't done one but know a ton of people who have it is on my list to do :) Just take your time and go at your own pace. Thankfully its not so much about the running but the obstacles. I would suggest doing some weight lifting before just to get your body back into the swing of things otherwise you will be crazy sore after!

    have fun :)

Go for it! I've always been interested in it, but I'm more of a languid lion than a go-get-em person. I enjoy lazing around.

I did one about a year ago. Which one are you signed up for...the sprint or the super? The one I did was the super which average about 8 or more miles with 20-ish obstacles. I will say that I trained for it for a few months leading up to it but that is because I wanted to challenge myself to see how well I could do. There were definitely people there who had not trained and were not in their best shape so it is doable. You just have to make sure to go at your own pace and rest when you need to. Not to scare you but more to prepare you...there are some obstacles (especially if you're doing a super) that are going to be nearly impossible without practicing them or being in the best shape of your life so don't let that discourage you. If you can't do one just do your burpees and move on. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Never a Spartan Race, but I did the Tough Mudder. It was HARD, but so worth it. Good luck!

Hey all - I survived! I did a Sprint, and the course was 4.8 miles. It was probably the hardest thing, physically, I have ever done. But I am SO proud of myself for sticking it through and finishing! :) Weight-wise, I may not be where I want to be, but my body is capable of a lot more than I thought it was.

Definitely had many embarrassing moments at this race! Ugh. There was a rope swing obstacle. Should have been a piece of cake, right? Nope. I completely fell off and submerged in the gross muddy water. (Although that was kind of refreshing haha) Also, I was dehydrated by the end and my right leg completely cramped up to the point that I couldn't move my foot at all. A bunch of people stopped to help, which was so awesome, but they called the medics!!! They escorted me down from that obstacle, and tried to get to me to call it quits. It was SO EMBARRASSING!!!!!! And it didn't help that they were both really good looking lol

I definitely want to sign up for another one for next year, and work on improving my time and my endurance.

Thanks for all of the encouragement!
