Nah, that's normal for here. We're in the northern part of the state - 30 miles from Oregon and Nevada. Up where people are out numbered by cows, and the largest town in the county has just over 3500 people!!
Sooooooooooo....LSU is still #1 GEAUX TIGERS and sooooooooooooooo...my sinus infection has finally cleared after being on three different antibiotics and two doctors to finally get the right one. It is really crazy, but I have been on antibiotics since the beginning of October and I have to be on them for two more weeks.
Yogi will always have a special place in my heart. I can never read anything he said-- or didn't say-- without smiling.
I agree Alice....... Yogi is one very special person...... Wouldn't you love to sit with him in the backyard...... and just talk to him about ANYTHING... Yogi is the real deal.........
Just Me, Major posted a quote by the late Yogi Bera. He's famous not only for his baseball playing and management skills but for his unique outlook on life. This particular quote was his answer to a question about some of the things he was credited with saying.
Journey......... Sooooo....... "When you’re on a journey, and the end keeps getting further and further away, then you realize that the real end is the journey." -- Karlfried Graf Durckheim Makes sense to me........ The journey (for me) has been an exciting one ..... some ups, some downs .... but never boring .... The journey continues today........
Sooooooooo ...... after a good workout at the gym...... I'm sitting here watching the press conference on the Penn State scandal. Unbelievable!! :wow:
I know who he is (big baseball fan), but I immediately googled his name when I read that we lost a great philosopher...I thought I missed something. :haha:
Sooooooo....... on ATOZ if a person is not your declared friend..... are they your declared enemy ........:lol: Maybe time to lighten up folks ...... this is not life or death...... Have to confess I don't take most things very seriously ..... best to all..... even to those who are not my friends.........
I have no clue what is going on...friend, enemy, lighten up? Huh? All I know is for a second I thought Berra had died, but he didn't. Is something else going on here?
Carl vs Tony Soooooooo with two races to go it's Carl vs Tony...... Can't wait for the Phoenix race....... Go Tony go.........!!!
I don't do FB ...... ....... Someone emailed the msg above and I just posted it...... No big deal .........
What an incredibly generous gesture. My friend Alicia is still wearing her wig, several months after her Chemo ended, as she waits for her hair to grow back in.
*Snip* Did you hear my 2 almost 9 inch pony tails being cut off!!! This is my 4th time donating. I have now donated 6 pony tails (they say 6-8 to make a full wig) to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths. My last donation was September 2, 2010!!! My hair is about the length it was last year... just a little above my shoulders!!! I love it... Alice... my goal is to do 8 ponies before gray starts to take over (I don't think I'm that close yet, but wasn't sure how fast my hair would grow). I wanted to do a whole wig!!! I figure since I was blessed with hair, my hope is that if I ever needed it my "sisters" would step up to help me feel "pretty!" It's the least I can do to help out my "sisters" fighting and know that someone they've never met cares about them!!! I was blessed with good hair genes I have donated almost every 14-5 months, I think my longest was about 2 years!!! I will keep donating as long as I can!!!
Good for you Diznee...... I would donate except for the fact my hair "style" is rather "military." My wife (barber, best friend, etc) cuts my hair...... In the summer it's a #4 ..... in the winter #6...... At the moment my hair is about 2 inches long...... and I'm feeling rather hippie............
Major, I cut my DH's hair as well. It is rather easy when you can run the clippers over the whole head.
This reminded me of 'reason, season or lifetime" "People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are!* They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on. Then people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life."
Soooooo.........I thought that I will give a friend another chance. She is almost 30 years old and I had hoped that she had "matured" a little. She just got her masters in counselling, is a wonderful social worker, but continues to lack respect for herself, puts herself in unsafe positions and allow herself to be "used" in the search for love. She has been calling me at least 5 times a day and texting me multiple times....I don't think I can handle this friendship -- It's very time consuming and I'm too old for all of her drama.
Sopranos Soooooo ..... here it's 2011 and I'm watching Season 1 - Episode 7 of the Sopranos (probably for the 4th or 5th time) from 1999!!! Where has time gone? ..........
You know my thoughts on that.... Have you caught 'Boardwalk Empire'...Soprano-like on a few levels...including Steve Buscemi in the lead and now the actor who played Uncle Junior on the Sopranos is on as well.
Yes, cza I know your thoughts....... And as you know I'm a Soprano junkie ........... I've been watching Boardwalk Empire and really warming up to it. The guy who plays the straight arrow federal agent "Nelson Van Alden" is great in his role... as is Steve Buscemi...... Never thought I'd see Buscemi in a starring role. Now all we need is to have James Gandolfini (sp?) appear as "muscle" from Chicago who takes on Atlantic City ...... (I think I need to get to the gym .........:lol
I've been debating doing this with a used-to-be very close, sister like friend that I broke things off with 2 years ago. We tried to make it work last year and ended up fighting even worse. It's amazing how in a year how much my mentality towards her has changed. I still don't know that I can handle her but I really want to try to talk to her... I'm such a wuss.
Soooo, it's early here in Colorado........ I can tell it's going to be a wonderful day. We are going over to Utah for three days this week (haven't decided exactly when to leave). I'm plotting out some interesting Utah jeep trails this morning. My wife has agreed to go on any trails I select as long as they don't include Metal Masher and Poison Mesa Spider ........... The last time we were on those she said something like "never, never, never again, don't bother to ask me." .........:lol: Edit: Opps .... not enough coffee yet...... Make that "Poison Spider Mesa" .....
What fun, Major! Today is my sister's Silver Anniversary party, so we'll spend most of the day there. I love any chance to see my mom and siblings, so I'm looking forward to it.
Sooooo ....... as I said early this morning.... "it's going to be a wonderful day" ........ and it was. I don't know why I've been blessed so...... but I have been..... I have a wonderful, loving (drop dead gorgeous) wife and a wonderful loving 3 year old female Lab........ AND they both love me to death..... Couldn't ask for more........ Peace to all......... (sorry folks but the Major is very happy tonight)
Sooo...it was warm (cloudy) yesterday...we hung out Xmas lights out... They will be ready after Thanksgiving to go on!!! Still getting used to this short do!!!
