Sooooo........ I did some rappelling this afternoon. Vertical drop was about 300 feet.......All the gear worked..... (otherwise I wouldn't be typing this..) Exhilaration factor was a 9.9999 on a scale of 10... I'm alive and well ....... and watching GT play VT...........:lol:
Soooooooo........ there are hail storms then there are really big hail storms....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuMX9AM9BrE
Thank you for the offer Major, but I think I've got a suggle buddy up here! It's only been a month, but so far so good.
Soooooo, I wonder if the dog killer will win tonight........ hope not even though I hate his opponents........ People who kill innocent dogs should be locked up for a long time...... not a few years....
Soooooo,, I wonder if the winter storm that I am expecting tonight will really bring 10 cm of snow with it....
I think the dog killer set some records and I do hear he has paid a ton of money toward animal protection, humane societies and the like. So maybe it will even out somehow.
I saw part of the game. No doubt the dog killer is a great athlete. I wonder what pleasure he got out of watching dogs savagely bite, chew and claw one another to death. I believe this video discusses the hanging and drowning of dogs who did not perform well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBZdjc4RfQA
Sooo, how do you explain clearly to a grade 7 student that rolling up bits of paper and making "bunny teeth" out of them during class is the type of behaviour that will make him a bit of a target in a couple of years when he is in high school?
During my brief teaching career........( which may be over) ...... I've never seen bunny teeth, MrsC....... Invite me up there and maybe I can talk to him.......
Sooooo Major, you sound like you are having so much fun, I may change my plans and retire this year instead of next.
Retirement can be awesome, swansong1. Having met every lifetime career goal I set for myself early in life I retired from the corporate world the first time at the age of 48. I played hard for about six months and then was made an offer I couldn't refuse (by another one of those evil oil companies...). I retired the second time when I was 52 and I haven't looked back. I work at playing hard.... Plan on being in your state of Florida for 5 or 6 weeks starting sometimes in mid December. That should be a blast!! Soooooo, if you're retired.....
That is one of the best times of the year to be in Florida. I usually travel to Disney in Dec but this year I will still be recovering from foot surgery and won't be walking yet. Next summer we will be shopping for our retirement home somewhere on the outskirts of Orlando. We would like to go home and be close to family (and Disney!) when we retire. Have a wonderful trip!
Sooooo....... I'm a bit mellow tonight ...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clKLwaT__kI&feature=related
You should have a wonderful time. Where will you be visiting? Since Orlando is my hometown, I'm pretty partial to that part of the state, but I could be comfortable living anywhere in Florida.
We'll be at/near Disney--my daughter's soccer team is in the Showcase Tournament at the end of December. We're driving down as a family and have rented a 3-bedroom condo for a week. It's been years since we had a family vacation--I'm really excited!
A tropical vacation sounds lovely right now. Just finished up the second day of craziness in a row. The sculpture contest went off well. I am so glad it is finished though. Tomorrow's only hiccup comes at 2:00. Two days of school next week and then Thanksgiving break. I cannot wait!
Soooo rws, I've been on a 5 month summer vacation........ Maybe it's time to end that and start two weeks of Thanksgiving holidays...:lol:
And then it will be just about time to begin that Christmas break. You must be getting exhausted with all those vacations coming right after another!
It is exhausting swansong....... Xmas break can't start too soon............. The 4-5 week Christmas break will be in the Sunshine State...... then it's back home to Colorado just in time for Spring Break (about mid January through the end of March)........
Sooooooooo, did you know the earth travels around the sun at about 67,000 mph....... and that some turtles breathe through their pooper... and that the Major has too much time on his hands this morning... Time to get out of the house.....:lol:
Then it's time for the late spring/early summer break...I hear Washington is a nice place for that break.
Which Washington would that be, ....... the one on the east coast or the one on the left coast? ........ Just kidding, swansong....... We had planned to be in Texas during Thanksgiving, but that's not going to work out... However, my wife is a guest speaker at a seminar in the TX hill country (actually in San Antonio) in February....... sooooo that will be our spring break....:thumb:
Scrambling....... Sooooooooo, I went "scrambling" today..... Lots of fun and very tough hiking...... Steep climb up a trail with lots of 3-4-5 ft boulders to negotiate. And yet the decent was even harder...... Maybe I was tired... ... Trekking poles really helped on the way down....... Anyone who hikes knows how much trekking poles are needed on the way down........
Fishing..... Soooooo ... yesterday on our way to Aspen I checked out the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan Rivers above Glenwood Springs. These are couple of very elite, beautiful trout streams. I am so ready to throw fly rods, vests, and waders into the back of the jeep..... and GO FISHING......
Soooooo, I see Charlie Sheen is suing CBS for mental anguish...... Is this guy playing with a full deck?......
Sooooo ..... I really sorry I missed Michael Moore's recent visit to Madison..... Moore is certainly mid-stream America, isn't he.....
I had several oak trees die in the drought of recent years so I have a mountain of wood. I turned the heater on in my bathroom the past two nights and I live in south Texas. I was surprised it was so chilly. I've already planted my garden.
