Sweets and I went out and selected a new grill. It will be delivered and assembled on Tuesday. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to start using it soon!

Sooooo....after a beautiful weekend....it's snowing our deck is covered!!! UGH!!!

Major bonfire is so fun...plus we lost a lot of limbs (most were high & dead) during ice storm before Xmas but could only now get to them!!! So it's a win win...yard gets picked up & we can enjoy some outside time!

I need a mental health day, but unfortunately that won't be happening until next month and even then I'll probably be so busy I won't have the time to take it.

We were on the lake on Saturday in shorts, and Sunday had a blizzard. My kids didn't have school yesterday.

I'm out at an all day workshop tomorrow (iPads and Media Literacy!); it's a much needed day away.

I will play today. I have discovered that women love the control they have at school with their classes and find great satisfaction from it. ATOZ is pretty much a female place and that is fine. I have worked with ladies for so long it is normal for me. But I have to say as I near the end of my teaching tenure (3 more years I hope) most of my friends have moved on or passed. Has been hard. When my teaching buddy died 5 years ago I told the one she mentored and took her place she was now "my new teaching friend" It has worked out well. Now she is moving on. I need new energy to find a new buddy for my stretch run. I just told "carol" who is very smart and driven she is will have to take Marie's place. She smiled and stayed and talked quite awhile with me (Planning day). I have had so many teaching friends over the years but if you are the last one standing it is sort of sad and isolating if you let it. It is funny the teachers and Admin. move on but the children seem to stay the same for me. Their faces/smiles/energy/love keep me energized and excited. Happy Friday

My husband once said that this place sounds miserable to him, and he prefers less heavily moderated forums. He has a very active presence on the Internet, and in other forums for teachers and education, and just doesn't find this one interesting because, as he puts it, "as soon as something gets interesting, the thread gets closed." He also commented that there seems to be more catty action going on in the PMs on this forum than any other forum he's ever seen. (He wondered if that was because the forums do seem to be primarily women...) I'll share threads he may be interested in, and he just prefers other forums that don't try to pretend that everyone is nice and that everyone gets along all of the time.

I will prefer "in country" any day! As long as it is my country. I recently went overseas for a few days....and I hated it. Well, maybe hate is a strong word but I could not wait to get home!

Soooo...in 5 1/2 days we find out where my fiance's job will be. This process has been going on all school year. It could be where I'm living now, or it could be anywhere else in the country. I may be having a very hard time focusing on anything else right now...

I thought it might feel bittersweet...but it doesn't because I am so anti standardized testing the way we do it in this state. I am just really happy that the pressure is now off my students and we can have some fun!

Amakaye - hope you love the place you get! We went through something similar when my husband finished flight training in the Air Force and assignment day rolled around.

Swan...it is sad how tests rule everything.... I know when we went to the school orientation they said "If it's not on a test don't teach it."UGH!

    Yummy, Diz.

Soooo, moving my son home has added a security system to our house. No one could possibly get through our front hall in the dark without seriously injuring themselves!
