I have 24 kids in my class and we have a mixed age group of threes, fours, and one five year old who just missed the cut off deadline for kindergarten. Out of these 24 children, 6 are incredibly ready for kindergarten (keep in mind they were in this class last year). I know it is really early in the year and we need to give the others time, but the skill levels of these children are so different from each other and it makes it difficult to teach anything. We have decided to break the kids into smaller groups based on skill level, but I am not even sure that that is really working. Does anyone have any other suggestions?? Thanks in advance!
