In our province, we are having a huge curriculum change. Grade 6 is now the solar system, but we do not have textbooks on it as it takes a couple of years for them to come out. So, I am starting fresh. Has anyone found complete units that they love; free or paid for. The description of what to teach is pretty vague: planets, moons, asteroids, meteors, comets, etc. To me, it sounds like it's an overview of space. I am hoping to do some fun activities and research during this unit.
In Ontario, Space is one of the Science strands in Grade 6. I don't teach science, but I'll ask the Grade 6 teacher on Monday for some of her favourite resources. You may also find some good stuff here.
