Does anyone know what this is? I am look at jobs in Texas, but I am from Oklahoma. There are several jobs that just say "Social Studies" or "Science", but a couple of jobs say "Social Studies Composite" or "Science Composite".

I googled Social Studies Composite Certification and found this from Houston Baptist University:
    Composite Social Studies
What is it? This certification option provides content area preparation for students who are preparing to teach social studies in middle grades (4-8) or high school grades (9-12). It includes economics, history, geography, political science, psychology and sociology. These subjects are taught as an integrated whole in middle grades and as separate subjects in high school. High school composite social studies certification permits a teacher to teach each of these separate subjects.

I found similar things for science. So basically a composite certification means you can teach all social studies instead of just Government or all science courses instead of just Physics, for example. Can anyone from Texas clarify if I'm not correct?
