Congrats! You and Mrs. Blazer can do it! I'm glad that you're donating that money to a good cause too.

12 days gone. My intake of fizzy water has increased significantly.

This weekend could be interesting. My best friend and his wife are coming up to stay for a couple of days. We only see them a couple of times a year and when they visit (or we visit them) we have a real bender! This weekend will be different.

Well the visit passed off OK. There are 7 empty wine bottles and several empty beer and cider cans in my recycling box but I am proud to say that Mrs B and I are not responsible for any of them! Just 14 days to go!

Well we put the money we saved on booze into the Hockey player's fund. Altogether the hockey fraternity in the UK has raised £40k (nearly $50k). which should go a decent way to getting him the treatment he needs.

Last night tonight! :D However this week I have got my first subbing gig and we always had a rule of no booze on a school night so I shall have to wait until Friday!:(

So we made it. Subbing for the whole week (in fact they have asked I stay on until Christmas). I shall be blowing the froth off a few on Friday!

In case anyone is interested the final total that was raised for our sick hockey player was £42000 ($52.5k) and to add to that will be the figure that was raised by the South Carolina Stingrays for him. This means he is now able to travel to and stay in Germany to get the treatment that he needs.

He is currently in Germany having his first bout of treatment with a follow up treatment in the New Year. Everyone over here has their fingers crossed.

I believe he is having Proton therapy. Something that is not available in the UK on our NHS or on private health care. He had the alternative of going to Mexico!
