God bless my mother-in-law. This was her gift to me and to my sister-in-law. I don't think I've even been given a nicer gift!

    I got:
a new laptop (old one was on it's last leg with either a hard drive or fan problem)
a new blind on the back door (neat one that is encased in glass so the dog and cats can't get to it)
a new plantation blind on the downstairs bedroom window (had cheap ones up and BF decided he'd surprise me by getting and putting up the one I'd been wanting)
also got a really neat spice rack from his mom and a very cool frying pan with the top in it to let the steam escape so it doesn't overflow accidentally.
also got a surprise right before Christmas where I received the reimbursement check from where my car was hit 6 years ago by someone (I had already paid it long ago- and have a different car)
    best gift I gave:
got BF a pistol kit that he can work on making this winter when it's too cold to do anything else.
I got him the rifle kit to match for Christmas a couple of years ago and he spent all winter making sure it was just perfect.
I also got to meet more of his family on Christmas.

    I got:

An Old Navy dress I had told my mom I liked
A Gilmore Girl series box set (the whole series--weeee!)
    Two Nora Roberts books
    A purse organizer
a little camera case/passport holder (great for our Europe trip in 2012)
A beautiful ring I saw at Belks--it has garnets, turquoise, and brown stones (jasper?), sodalite (dark blue speckled with white) in a wrap-around pattern--I had been shopping with my familty, saw this ring, and loved it. It was $40, which was a little much for me (being unemployed), but I was so sad to leave it because it was the last one in my size. My brother/mother got it for me for Christmas by calling and asking for them to hold it as we left the store. :D
Some good chocolate and cashews--my favorite
Some beads and string (I make jewelry)
Six pairs of fuzzy socks I had asked for
A $50 gift card to Burkes (kind of like Ross--one of my favorite stores)
A $50 gift card to Catos (another clothes store) from my aunt who drew my name
A $25 Visa gift card from another aunt (that was a surprise)

My favorite gifts I gave were a Pandora type bracelet I had made from Walmart and the bead store I gave to my aunt (very cheap compared to the real thing), a necklace and gold wire bent earrings that I made for my mom, and three books I gave to my brother: one was a Wicked two book set beautifully set with green foil, one was a compilation of short fantasy stories with two of his favorite authors (cost $0.10 at a thrift store), and one was a Shakespeare murder mystery. I also like the two Hawaiian shirts I got my dad from clearance. I found ways to shop creatively (cheaply!) and still stay on a budget.

Also got a foot of snow, but wasn't exactly asking for that. It ruined my day after Christmas shopping plans.

If it's any consolation, Christy, the word "skiing" always looks misspelled to me too - and I've worked in proofreading.

Sarge, I'd figured out that those were pedals but hadn't sussed out the additional niftiness. And I hope it was clear that in referring to your gifts as "bike toys" I intended childlike glee on your behalf.

(Of course, I have a rather broad definition of "toy" - I've been known to call the English language the best toy, ever. And, after all, does any of us ever really outgrow the need to play? Or if we do, isn't that a shame?)

I am versatile. From DH, I got a pair of diamond earrings and two new magazines for my pistol. He also gave me a jewelry box to hang on the wall and some perfume. I bought him a game camera, two SD cards, a Louis Lamour DVD set, and huge coffee mugs.
The inlaws gave us each $100 because they don't know what to get us and this comes in handy for day after Christmas shopping.

I guess I also got a new toy. A new Bread machine! My old one hasn't been working for while so I was happy to get a new one. It will be fun to "play" with this week during my vacation.

Under the Christmas tree, I received NOTHING! My Christmas present was my husband coming home from Iraq two weeks before Christmas. I learned in the year that he was gone that material things mean NOTHING to me. He's the most important thing (besides our three boys)

I had such a great Christmas! Christmas Eve my moms side got to meet my new boyfriend, and I got to see family I haven't seen in 6+ years. That night we had Christmas with my dad and siblings.

Christmas day we drove to the boyfriends house. I've met their family and really do love them already. That was my greatest gift...an extended family!

I got The Ex knife block from thinkgeek.com (supposed to be a gag gift from my brother)
    Eclipse Blu-ray
    Wine accessories
Things to add to my Bumble collection
An electronic pot stirrer (It's super neat, not too sure how often I'll use it)
    7 different gift cards
A fish (I keep saltwater along with my mom)
new seat covers and steering wheel cover
    a few cook books

I had such an awesome holiday :)

My favorite part of Christmas was being at Dh's parents house with his family. His sister's baby is 18 months old and so stinking cute!

We stopped at my parents on the way home. I go to my parents every day.
