Our principal is going to be starting lunchtime enrichment cafes, and I've been chosen to conduct an Environmental Enrichment club.

Last year, in graduate school, I had developed a unit of study on the Global Water Crisis that involves inquiry and social action, and I am so excited to be able to implement it in the classroom. Additionally, the work will be with gifted students, whom I've never taught before, so we will be able to really do a lot with these students.

I am trying to find some classrooms around the world to exchange emails about water usage, collection, availability, quality, etc. around the world.

Also included in the unit is fundraising and awareness raising.

    I am totally psyched!

I think that the water unit will take us quite a while, but Im also looking forward to the possibility of incorporating other environmental concerns and solutions into our studies.
