I'm snowed in watching 30 inches of snow falling (so far). I baked cookies and have comfort food in the crock pot. I'm not going to shovel until tomorrow so I'll work on some school projects and watch Lifetime movies on the DVR. I just watched episodes of the show Teachers- it's so bad that it just might be good.we will see. Anyone else snowed in?
I'm not snowed in... I'm snowed out! I was supposed to travel to DC today, but that obviously wasn't happening. So, instead, I'm at home watching tv, reading, and being lazy.
I'm in the Midwest and the weather was actually warmer today (30s) than it has been lately so most of the snow melted! No snow days for me anytime soon
Oh I love being snowed in except when we're without power. We hardly have any snow here in middle Wisconsin and it doesn't look hopeful this week either.
No school for us tomorrow and our Professional Development day is now a teacher work day....no PD for us....I am more excited about that than being out tomorrow...lol
Pennsylvania was really lucky and had very few power outages. The wind didn't come like was predicted. The official snowfall total was 30" in Harrisburg, but we ended up with a bit more. It took 3 of us 2 hours to shovel the cars out and clear the driveway. No school tomorrow! They had 6' drifts in our parking lot. My street just got plowed a few minutes ago. Tomorrow will be restful!
We got about 24-26 inches. No school today for either me or the kids. Too many side roads to get to still. I'm just glad the storm came on a Saturday so that we're just off for one snow day and not three! Today I plan to do some house chores, keep working on lesson plans, watch Netflix and venture out to the grocery store in the afternoon once I'm more confident about the road conditions. All the major roads are fine, I just need to be sure I can make it out of my development.
No snow days in the near future for us. It's been cold but the sun has been shining. This weekend we're supposed to get into the 70s and then the beginning of next week back into the low 50s. Wish Mother Nature would make up her mind what she wants to do with Texas.
We are expecting a big storm on Monday night and all day Tuesday. Which means we could get a couple inches or a foot and a half. The forecasters have been talking about this coming storm for days, but storms tend to make wild turns out here in the Midwest. Who knows what will happen?
They have been talking about it here as well!! For Tues through Thurs. Worried about rains, sleet freezing rain, then glad freeze with wet snow!!! We shall see...right now saying more rain
I was snowed in at my boyfriend's house for four days. Things went pretty well. We cooked, sorted stuff for Goodwill, played in the snow, and watched movies.
They've been talking about this "big storm" here for several days as well. I think they just constantly hype it up so more people will watch the news. It's supposed to be "up to" 12 inches here, but spread out over 2 days, that's really not much for us. It will be enough to make my commute suck but not enough for a snow day.
Our buses were cancelled yesterday. It was a tricky one because the roads were clear in the morning, but the forecast was for snow and freezing rain for most of the day. It ended up being not nearly as bad as was forecast, although the roads were slippery in the middle of the day. We were really disappointed because our grade 7 and 8s were supposed to go on a trip yesterday. Roads are a bit dicey this morning, but all is running as usual.
