Can I just say that I love snow/ice days? We have only gone to school one day this week! It is wonderful! I love teaching in the South where people freak out about the snow!

I right here with ya! We had school on Tuesday and Wednesday, We had our party yesterday due to the forecast. We will probably have to go for our half day tomorrow but the kids are wearing PJs and were are going to watch The Polar Express while enjoying hot cocoa and cookies. :)

I wish we had that out here, but you still have to make those days up later.

I really wish we had a snow day this week or next week. I have so much Christmas stuff to do. I hate going right up until Christmas Eve. Hello, don't people have wrapping, shopping, baking, decorating, card sending, etc. to do? I don't care about the time AFTER Christmas off, i need it NOW!

We actually have 13 built in calamity days. We get these by adding a few minutes each day.

I love it, too! I would just like to have the time to put in a holiday movie and get out all my supplies and go to town!

    I see!

Decorating the tree & wrapping gifts are the only Christmas chores I LIKE doing. I could wrap 20 gifts!

Yeah, it is nice until you lose all your teacher workdays to make the days up. The first year I taught in NC, we had two hurricanes in Sept. We missed over 8 days and lost every workday and holiday for the rest of the school year except for some Christmas break and a couple of days at Easter. It was a long year.

It depends on where you are, and how well your district plans ahead. My county last year had 16 days built in, and the county next door to us only had 3... so when we got a blizzard and missed several weeks of school, we were covered, and they had a lot of days to make up. Bring it on! We got a much needed snow day today... I was able to get all my shopping done, while the other schools just had a delay. It was awesome! The malls were so empty!

We were off Monday, delayed Tuesday, off Thursday, and delayed today. The first day off was nice, but today was a scramble to finish some things up before Christmas break. (We have two days next week, but those are full of Christmas activities). Plus, it's a pain to have used up two days in December--we usually end up needing several in January/February (we have 5 built in).
