We are under a new regime of administrators, not all of whom are familiar with the special issues of a high school classroom, who are slamming us on observations. Our school is on the rotation of rounds about once a week and they are constantly complaining about the stagnant activities within the classroom. What they "want" is a dog-and-pony show, and on the contrary what our faculty do is simply continue with class as if there is no interruption. It's been suggested that we simply give them their dog-and-pony-show and then go back to class as usual. Does anyone have any suggestions for snapshot activities that can be pulled out of a hat and done across curriculum when there is an observation? We know what they don't want, and that's the business as usual act of teaching to high school students. What we're having trouble coming up with are the elementary-classroom-activities they want to see in our high school classes. Anyone have any suggestions for formative assessments or activities that would be highly engaging, demonstrate learning, and not interrupt the usual diverse learning we have to do to actually reach students? Any suggestions appreciated! (FYI, we're a young, high-energy, active school of teachers. We're not just sitting at our desks telling our students to reach the chapter and do the questions.) :help:

Split English and social studies, but also a period of "enrichment" that includes reading, writing and math.
